Instant oats are a bit more creamy, while rolled oats give a hearty texture and chew! <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chia Seeds: <\/strong>Chia seeds are a great source of fiber and heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. Here we use them to help to thicken our oatmeal! You can also use ground flaxseed for a similar effect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sweetener:<\/strong> Maple syrup is my go-to sweetener for overnight oats, but any dry or liquid sweetener will work here. Feel free to adjust the sweetener to your own personal preference!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dairy-Free Milk: <\/strong>Overnight oats get their perfectly creamy texture by using non-dairy milk instead of water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yogurt<\/strong>: Yogurt is techincally optional, but I like to use a bit of plant-based yogurt in my overnight oats recipes because it adds an extra &ldquo;tang&rdquo; and makes the mixture even thicker.
